Towards mountain tops
After a few days of madness on the ski slope, many skiers and snowboarders are looking high – to the mountain tops – hoping to try something different. There, in full sun and winter glory await new challenges that many people want to face. The Polish Cable Lines (PKL) have a lot to offer for many winter hikers...
Best tourism in:
Kasprowy Wierch Mountain needs no introduction – it is one of the most popular peaks in the Polish Tatra Mountains. The magnificent panorama of raw Tatra ridges is not its only appeal. It is also a great starting point for hikes and tours on winter trails leading through Świnica to Orla Perć. You can also go down to the picturesque shelter in the Valley of the Five Lakes (Dolina Pięciu Stawów). In its western direction Tatra opens out onto Czerwone Wierchy and the Giewont Mountain, at the foot of which there are tourist shelters at Hala Kondratowa and the Kościeliska Valley. The views that can be enjoyed from Kasprowy Wierch are simply incomparable.
The Jaworzyna Mountain, proudly towering over Krynica, attracts many tourists and walkers. At the top (which can be reached by a gondola lift) is located the junction trail, enabling further hiking in all directions.
Through Jaworzyna runs the main Beskidy trail (marked in red), which stretches from the Bieszczady Mountains to the Sudeten. Through the trail you can get to the Hala Łabowska and continue in the direction of Rytro and Rycerzowa. Following the eastern direction you will soon reach Mochnaczka Niżna: here ends the Beskid Sądecki and begins the Beskid Niski.
From the Jaworzyna Mountain you can also go down to the surrounding resorts. Following the black trail from the nearby Przełęcza (Pass) at Bukowa you will reach Szczawnik, while the green trail leading from the top of Jaworzyna will bring you to Złockie and Muszyna. Two marked hiking routes end in Krynica, at the foot of a mountain: the green route ends at the lower station, and the red (slightly longer) route ends in the centre of Góra Parkowa. If you're planning a long journey, following the routes you can reach Tylicz, Wierchomla and Wojkowa.
