Our Mountains

Everything starts with a dream and fascination with the mountains

For many people – including the elderly, the sick, and the disabled – the cable lines (especially those leading to the summit of Kasprowy Wierch, Gubałówka, Jaworzyna Krynicka, Góra Parkowa or Palenica in Szczawnica and the Żar Mountain in Międzybrodzie Żywieckie) are the only way to get to the top of a mountain and to feel unparalleled emotions and aesthetic experiences, For others it is a way to save time and effort necessary for a long hiking trip.

Kasprowy Wierch is located almost in the middle of the Tatra range and creates excellent opportunities to enjoy the mountains and their nature. The only mountains of alpine character in this part of Europe are found on the Polish-Slovak border. The state border, runs over Kasprowy Wierch, and a yellow plaque informing about this fact is situated on Sucha Pass (Sucha Przełęcz) and is one of the most photographed objects in the area. Facing the upper station one can see the Slovaks’ national mountain – Krivan – and the vast massif of Hruby Wierch. To the east you can see the jagged peaks of the High Tatras and the Świnica summit culminating in the panorama. A scenic view in the summer is provided by the Gąsienicowe Lake District, where one can get a clearly view of a few ponds, lying at the foothills of Kościelec.

Gubałówka in the summer gives you a perfect look at the panorama of almost the whole Tatra Mountains, its orographic system and altitudinal zonation. You can see the impact that the melting glaciers had on the mountain sculpture, as well as differences in surface formations of the Bielskie Tatras, and the High and West Tatras. To the north of the Gubałówka the panorama is delineated with the highest peaks of the Beskidy Mountains – Babia Góra and Pilsko; to the east you can see Gorce and Pieniny, and in the west – Orava Bay glittering in the sun.

You should also visit the Palenica Mountain in Szczawnica. Tourists can go along a comfortable path through a beautiful scenic clearing which is descending from the summit to the main Szafranówka Pieniny trail, leading to the east and the highest peak of Pieniny – Wysoka, or to the west – to Szczawnica Nižní, Sokolica, and the Three Crowns (Trzy Korony).

The beautifully situated Żar Mountain in Międzybrodzie Żywieckie gives you the opportunity to admire from up high the Sola River gorge winding through the mountains of Beskid Mały and a wide panorama of the Beskid Mountains. Tourist can start hiking here.

Krynica Zdrój is located at an altitude of 560-620 meters above sea level in a secluded valley between the picturesque hills of Jaworzyna Krynicka (1114 m), Huzary (865 m), Krzyżowa (813 m), Bradowiec (817 m) and Góra Parkowa (741 m), on the sunny southern slopes of Beskid Sądecki, along the Kryniczanka creek and its tributaries: Czarny Potok, Palenica and Słotwinka.
