Hill walking

The Polish Cable Lines (PKL) are dedicated not only to fans of winter sports, but also to families wanting to have a pleasant walk. Located in the most beautiful landscapes of the Polish mountains, they simply put you in the mood for hiking. Jaworzyna Krynicka opens a magnificent view of the Beskid Sądecki.

From the top station, there are gentle trails leading toward Wierchomla, and you can also go down to Piwniczna or Muszyna. The trails are well-marked, so the wandering is also suitable for less experienced hikers.

It's also a great place to practice cross-country skiing. The ski slopes nearby “U Leśników” Recreation Centre offer well-prepared tracks for Nordic Skiing, while backcountry enthusiasts can reach up to the Bacówka shelter over Wierchomla. They can hop on the cable car to get to the peak of the mountain, and move ahead.

Less demanding areas for the younger walkers can be found at the nearby Góra Parkowa in Krynica. A beautiful panorama opens up from the hill. Surrounding Krynica there is a yellow trail, making it an ideal way to spend some active time with your family. At the foot of Góra Parkowa stretches a spa promenade where you can drink medicinal water or buy a commemorative trinket.

Overlooking the beautiful mountain panorama, you can also take a stroll in the town of Szczawnica. Comfortable chairs take tourists up to the Palenica Mountain where over the Pieniny range you can go in the direction of the shelter at Durbaszka, Wysoka and Homole Gorge, or go back to Szczawnica. In good weather, your journey will be accompanied by stunning views of the Beskidy and the Tatra Mountains. The scenery can also be admired from the centre of Zakopane – Gubałówka, where the gentle slope is the perfect place to catch a bit of sun.
