FAQ Palenica

The path to Palenica is easy, but you have to climb up a little (about 250 meters vertically). The route is marked and begins at the car park next to the lower cable station, goes through Palenica (upper station) and reaches Szafranówka. It takes about 70 minutes to cross.

For comparison: the chair will take you to the top in no more than 5 minutes.

There are skiing slopes next to three ski lifts at Szafranówka (ideal for families with children and for beginners), as well as next to a chairlift (black trail - difficult and gentle downhill slope, ending at the lower station). There is also a parking lot, equipment rental and ski service. The routes are snowed and groomed regularly.

The blue trail, running along the ridge of the Smaller Pieniny, is a great place for cross-country skiing.

Entry tickets are available at the ticket offices or online at pkl.pl

The year-round car park is just off the lower railway station.

Of course! Pieniny is a great place to wander, both with families and alone. In the building of the lower cableway station you will find a free map with tourist routes, suggested walking trails and crossing times (also downloadable at pkl.pl). Take it with you, and you will not lose your way!

Gravity slide is a great way to spend time with your whole family and enjoy an adrenaline rush! It is open daily, usually from May to late November; the opening hours can be checked on our site, it usually operates from 9.30 to 19.00. The cableway has comfortable, four-seater chairs, which will take tourists to the peak of Palenica in about 5 minutes. The lower station is located in the center of Szczawnica. There is a car park where you can leave your car.

The cableway is usually open from about 9.00 am and closes between 15.30 and 19.30. Opening hours depend on the time of year. You can check them online at http://www.pkl.pl/palenica/kolej-linowa-palenica.html.
