FAQ Gubałówka

Yes, the hill funicular is adapted for the carriage of people in wheelchairs. At the passenger check-in, you can always count on the help of PKL employees, both on the bottom and top platform. The price list does not have reduced tickets for the disabled so you have to buy a normal ticket. You will pay less if you study or go to school (and have a valid school or student ID) or if you are a senior citizen over 65 years of age.

Children can use the slide under the supervision of adults. Always have the kid sit in front of you to keep an eye on it.
If your child is under 4 years of age, it can use the slide free of charge. Older children (4–8 years old) have to have a ticket and slide down under the supervision of an adult. This means that you have to buy two tickets (for the child and for yourself), despite that you will slide down together. This results from the Regulations – the fee is charged per person, and not per alpine sled.

Certainly! We are happy that you want to visit Gubałówka with your whole family. That is why kids aged 4 or less get a ride with the hill funicular for free. Discounts on tickets are available to older children (up to 10 years of age), pupils/students (up to 26 years of age) and senior citizens (over 65 years of age).
Remember that you will get a discount only when you have a document confirming that you are eligible for a given discount. It can be a school ID, a student ID, an ISIC card and a EURO26 card. Senior citizens only need an ID card or other document confirming their age.

No worries, we will not leave anybody at the top! If you do not want to walk down from Gubałówka to Zakopane, go to the top station. There, you will find a ticket machine or a ticket office where you can buy a return ticket for your ride down.

You can return such a ticket at the PKL Customer Service Centre (address: Krupówki 48) or at Gubałówka bottom station. But remember that it will be impossible on the day of your ride! A ticket can be returned a day before the ride with the hill funicular for which it was bought at the latest. Remember to bring a receipt!

Oh, those issues with electronics... First, check if you have chosen your ticket correctly (if you are buying a ride with the hill funicular up Gubałówka)? Messages of this type can be the result of a mistake when tapping on the screen.
If everything is OK, and the ticket machine still refuses to sell you a ticket, it may simply be the case that there are no free seats (on certain days, tickets are not sold any more as much as an hour before the hill funicular closes). Just in case, go to the ticket office at the bottom station and ask whether you can take a ride up or not.

On days with high demand, the hill funicular goes up and down non-stop during the opening hours (just 10 people in a car are enough for it to go). If there is less tourists, the car will go up or down every 15 minutes.

No, you can spend on Gubałówka as much time as you want. The ticket is valid for a given day and you can use it during the operating hours of the hill funicular.

To experience adventure, sunlight and beautiful views. At the top, you will find plenty of attractions for children and adults. In the summer, you can sunbathe on sunbeds (on the highest beach in Poland), rent sports equipment and play volleyball with your friends. If you are a mountain enthusiast, you will surely not miss the opportunity to see the Tatra mountains through telescopes.
For older children, we have wind in the hair and adrenaline, i.e. an alpine slide open throughout the summer. And as for younger children, we invite you to an approx. 40-minute walk along the ridge of Gubałówka, towards Butorowy Wierch. Those views are second to none! And if you buy a combined ticket, the hill funicular from Butorowy will take you directly to the town centre of Kościelisko.

Yes, you can. However, each dog has to be on a leash and wear a muzzle as all passengers using our railway have the right to a comfortable ride. Remember to buy a ticket for your pet (at the ticket office or the Customer Service Centre at the bottom station).

The train usually takes about 3 minutes. The glazed wagon allows you to admire the views and take photos.
