FAQ Góra Żar
Góra Żar offers dedicated off-road scooters, specially designed for riding on forest trails. The descent starts from the top of the mountain along the Family Line trail, which is 2.5 km long, and ends at the lower station. Scooter passes available in the offer also guarantee a return to the top of the mountain by funicular.
Our off-road scooters are lightweight, and riding them is pure fun! Specially designed, thick tires make the descents on the green family trail a real thrill. 2.5 km of active fun on the easy Family Line trail is the perfect way to spend quality active time with your family.
Please note – on the Family Line trail, only dedicated scooters from the PKL bike rental or downhill bikes are allowed. Off-road scooter rides take place only when the trail is officially open and fully prepared for this activity. Safety rules must be followed at all times – wearing a helmet is mandatory for every participant throughout the ride. Scooters are available for individuals between 160 cm and 210 cm in height, with a maximum weight limit of 120 kg. Rides are strictly individual – carrying additional passengers, children, or pets is not allowed.
Scooters can be rented at the bike rental located at the lower lift station, and during the high season, also at the upper station.
The summit offers plenty of attractions for both kids and adults:
Children can have a blast on the toboggan run, enjoy some ice cream, and pick up fun souvenirs. Older kids and adults are invited to try the Monsterroller off-road scooters—ride them down the Family Route No. 5 and feel the adrenaline rush!
Those who prefer a more relaxed experience can enjoy a walk a few meters above the ground in the Trollandia rope park, located next to the lower station of the cable car.
Everyone regardless of age will certainly be interested in exploring the Porąbka - Żar power station - one of the three such facilities in Poland. You can look at its work and learn how the electricity is produced. This is an active power plant - do not forget to check the opening hours for visitors and the conditions for entry to the premises!
At the top station you will also find telescopes, souvenir shop and Góra Żar Restaurant. There are hiking and cycling trails that will take you to the enchanting corners of the Beskids. There are also beautiful views of the lake, mountains and majestic gliders! Keep your cameras handy!
Downhill enthusiasts are frequent visitors to Mount Żar. At the upper station of the cable railway, five downhill trails begin: the easy Easy Line (3.8 km), the wide and dynamic Air Line (2.3 km), and something for true experts – Flow Downhill, offering 2 km of truly technical riding.
In addition, two more trails await riders. Family Line is an easy 2.5 km downhill trail – perfect for beginners and families with children. Wide, smooth, and flowing, it allows you to enjoy the ride without the pressure of major technical obstacles. It’s a great choice for your first bike park experience and for building confidence on the bike.
For those seeking a bigger challenge, the Natural Downhill (Black Trail) stretches over 1.8 km and is designed for experienced riders. Its natural character, technical sections, roots, and uneven terrain provide plenty of adrenaline and authentic, raw downhill riding.
All trails have been built by professional companies. Please remember that they require proper equipment and solid riding skills. They are not recommended for casual or recreational cyclists.

Yes, a small dog held in an animal bag may enter with its carer. However, you must buy a separate ticket for your pet (at the lower station). If your four-legged friend is a bit bigger and traveling alone, please remember that it needs to wear a muzzle and a leash.
Of course! We invite whole families with children of all ages - even babies. Baby pram - free.
Yes, people in wheelchairs can ride up the carriage. The pricelist does not offer reduced tickets, so you have to buy a normal one. You will pay less if you are a pupil or a student (i.e. when you have the right to discount tickets) as well as persons over 65 years of age.
There are three options:
1. You can walk along the railroad track. It's a dirt road, so take good shoes.
2. You also have the whole ski slope (only in the summer, of course). Here you will also need mountain shoes.
3. You can take the asphalt road closed for traffic. It is about 6 km long and goes to the very top.
And if you do not want to get tired and muddy, feel free to use our cableway. It will take you to the top comfortably in a few minutes.
If you do not like to walk and want to park your car as close as possible, then you can leave it at the lower station. It's a private parking and PKL has no effect on prices.
If you want to pay less, come up a little higher. There you will also find a place to leave your car.
