On September 10, 1936, on the wave of enthusiasm, after the technical, organizational and financial success of the cableway to Kasprowy Wiech, activists of the Tourism Support League with the deputy minister of communication Aleksander Bobkowski at the lead, the City Council of Krynica, the spa authorities and the Ministry of Communications had together formed a limited liability company the "Krynica Funicular", which undertook the implementation of the earlier 1932 design for the construction of a funicular railway to Góra Parkowa.

The total investment cost amounted to PLN 625,000. The cableway was put into use on December 8, 1937, and was opened by the initiator of the project - Aleksander Bobkowski, Eng.  Until the outbreak of war, over 150,000 people had benefited from the new investment.

For several decades, cableways have been one of the main attractions in the majority of mountain resorts, all the while allowing, or at least facilitating, the practice of winter sports and tourism. For many people, it is an attraction in and of itself, as it combines the ease of overcoming heights with spending pleasant time at the summit, where usually apart from the lookouts, there are nice restaurants and playgrounds for children. After all, the cable car ride itself - although it usually only takes a short time - is great fun for kids. Hence, tourist cities that have cableways are more attractive to guests than those that do not have them yet. Krynica has been using the Góra Parkowa cableway for over 80 years, and its history proves how much these silver carts have become part of a beautiful tradition, thanks to which the Beskid spa attracts hundreds of thousands of guests every year.
